Sheridan Woman Charged With Endangering Children Arraigned in District Court

A trial date has been set in the case against 30-year-old Jenny Wegener of Sheridan who is charged with one count of Felony Endangering Children. On May 27, Wegener was arrested at a residence in Sheridan County for knowingly being in possession of methamphetamine with a minor present in the home. Wegener, at an arraignment hearing Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan, pleaded “not guilty” to the felony charge. District Court Judge John Fenn scheduled a two-day jury trial to begin on November 29 and set the pretrial conference for November 2 at 10 am.
A State’s motion to revoke Wegener’s bond was also addressed at Tuesday’s hearing. The motion was filed because Wegener tested positive for methamphetamine while out on bond. She admitted to the revocation and the Court accepted the admission and revoked the bond. Judge Fenn then set the bond at $5,000 cash only and stipulated that Wegener submit to high level drug and alcohol testing through the Sheridan County Justice Office if she were to bond out again. The charge of Endangering Children is punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
