Sheridan High School graduates will have an opportunity to celebrate their achievement while keeping a lasting Sheridan tradition alive.

The Kiwanis of Sheridan have been honored to accept Project Graduation from the Harper family. Project Graduation is a celebration of and for the graduating students of Sheridan County high schools that was originally organized by Pam Harper, who helped found the celebration, according to Kiwanis of Sheridan Secretary Dina Garcia Blachard. In honor of Harper, Kiwanis of Sheridan plans on renaming the event The Pam Harper Memorial after this year’s graduation.

For more than 20 years, Harper was involved with Project Graduation until her unfortunate passing in 2018. The Harper family has now asked Kiwanis of Sheridan to take over responsibilities of the project.

Project Graduation will have games, refreshments, prizes and magician John Rotellini. The event will be held at the Sheridan Early Building on May 30, the night of graduation starting at 9 p.m. The event is free.

Kiwanis of Sheridan is looking for donations in the form of prizes and monetary donations as well as volunteers to help staff the event. To learn more and find out how you can volunteer or donate, contact the Kiwanis of Sheridan on their Facebook page, here.
