In a special meeting Thursday, the Johnson County School Board voted to approve the proposed adjustment to the district’s Smart Start plan, which involves removing the mask mandate from the district’s schools.

Superintendent Jim Wagner explained the adjustment during the meeting.

Students in sports and other activities will be required to wear masks as required when traveling to schools in other districts, as well.

The changes to the mask mandate take effect beginning Monday April 5th in Johnson County schools.
