Sheridan Memorial Hospital is prepared in the event of a possible surge in cases when the mask mandate is lifted on March 16.

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, in a media release issued by his office on March 8, emphasized the success in managing the virus while keeping businesses and schools open in the Cowboy State.

With one of the most successful vaccine rollouts in the country, a declining number of hospitalizations due to the virus and falling active case numbers, Gordon said he would lift the statewide mask mandate and ease restrictions regarding businesses on March 16.

Gordon continues to encourage people to continue to wear face coverings in indoor public spaces and to follow the best practices adopted by any business they visit to slow the spread of the virus. The face covering protocol will remain in place in K-12 schools as a safety measure to ensure that classroom learning and all student activities can continue to occur safely.

During a news briefing, Sheridan Memorial Hospital Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Addlesperger stated they are “well-positioned” in the event of any case number surges in Sheridan County.
