The Sheridan City Council Tuesday night received some good news from City Treasurer Karen Burtis about the revenue generated from the sales and use tax for the month of December. Burtis said it was up 15 percent from the same time period last year.

Burtis said the sales and use tax numbers for January and February are expected to trend downward, which is typically the case following the Christmas shopping season.  The Council also heard a tourism report from Sheridan County Travel and Tourism Executive Director Shawn Parker and passed first reading of an ordinance amending chapter two of City code. We’ll have more from the Council meeting in future stories.
