Johnson County Healthcare Center CEO Sean McCallister gave an update on the latest happenings at the facility to the hospital board of trustees, touching on the new marketing director, payroll protection, and coronavirus vaccines.

Jennifer Burden, the new marketing director for the JCHC, was introduced to the board. Although she is a familiar face in the community, according to McCallister.

McCallister said he has submitted the required paperwork and is expecting the facility’s $2.33 million Payroll Protection Program loan, through the federal government’s CARES Act, to be totally forgiven.

Board member Tom Holt, with First Northern Bank, who submitted the facility’s paperwork to the Small Business Administration (SBA), said he will be surprised if they don’t forgive the full amount of the JCHC loan.

McCallister also spoke about less state funding for Medicare concerning COVID-19, and we will have more on that in an upcoming story.
