Sheridan Man Changes Plea on Child Pornography Charge

A change of plea hearing was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District for a Sheridan man charged with possessing child pornography. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Pursuant to terms of a plea agreement reached with the state, 33-year-old Kyle Reuter pleaded “ guilty” to the charge of Sexual Exploitation of Children- Possession of Child Pornography. Reuter was arrested last summer by officers with the Sheridan Police Department for having child pornography on his cellular phone. The plea agreement recommends a sentence of not less than 7 years and not more than 9 years in prison. The sentence is a mandatory minimum sentence due to the fact that Reuter was previously convicted of possessing child pornography in 2010.
District Court Judge John Fenn ordered that a presentence investigation be completed and scheduled the sentencing for April 1 at 9:45 am. Reuter’s bond was revoked and he was remanded to the custody of the Sheridan County Detention Center to await sentencing.
