County EOC: Vaccinations Moving Into Next Phase
The Johnson County Covid-19 Emergency Operations Center reported during their weekly briefing that vaccinations have now moved into the next phase, the 1b priority group, should contact public health to schedule a time for their vaccination.
Robin King, with Public Health, said vaccinations have kept them busy during the last <span class=”player fa fa-play” onclick=”playSound(this, ‘/audio/2020/01-06-41.mp3’);”> week. </span>
Public health does not know when the next phase of vaccinations, 1c, will begin, and they are waiting from notifications from the State Department of Health, to let the public know when that happens.
She said active cases of the virus continue to trend down, with only 13 current cases in the county.
King said the latest update to the state public health orders removes the requirement for bars and restaurants to close at 10pm, and allows fitness classes to be expanded.
She also said the state is expected to issue new state public health orders on January 9th.

COVID-19 Vaccinations Progressing
Johnson County Public Health has moved into Phase 1b of the COVID-19 Vaccinations. This includes those who are 70 years of age and over. While JCPH is still scheduling those who may qualify in Phase 1a, our focus now is on the population 70 years old and up. We will not be maintaining a list in order to protect your health information and to ensure the public we are focused on working through the priority groups. Shipments of the Moderna vaccine are arriving weekly, and we will gladly schedule your appointment when you call, while vaccine is available. We are scheduling in increments of 10 to allow proper use of all vaccine and to not allow for waste. Flexible scheduling is appreciated and it will help move the vaccination efforts along quickly.
Johnson County has shifted efforts to vaccinate our long-term care facilities with a partnership between Johnson County Public Health and Johnson County Healthcare Center, prior to Walgreen’s availability to reach these residents.
A COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held in Kaycee on January 25th, 9:00am-11:00am. To make an appointment, please call JCPH at 684-2564.
January 9th, 2021 will begin new State Public Health Orders. This update will remove the requirement that restaurants and bars must close at 10:00pm. Also, fitness classes will be expanded to 25 people. A copy of the new orders will be posted to our county COVID-19 website.
The Wyoming Department of Health is working to finalize Phase 1c. There is not an estimated date on when this information will become available, but all avenues will be used to inform the public in an accurate and timely manner. Johnson County Public Health in conjunction with the Emergency Operations Center is the official source to gather information about vaccine availability in Johnson County. Information from Johnson County Public Health will be announced via local media outlets, JCPH Facebook page, Code Red (mass text alert) system, and on our county website at www.johnsoncountywyoming.org.
