Pat BlairSix COVID-19 cases have been confirmed across Sheridan County School District 1, which resulted in about 35 people being quarantined.
District 1 Superintendent Pete Kilbride said the quarantines were a precaution.
He said masks and social distancing work.
Kilbride said the quarantine period is for 14 days, and most of those who were quarantined have now returned to school. He said none of the confirmed COVID-19 cases started in schools in the district.
He said the district does have a protocol when a case is identified in a school.
Kilbride said the first case of COVID-19 was reported to the district by the individual who tested positive. He said if that person had not contacted the district, public health would have.
He said he couldn’t reveal much more about any of the cases because of HIPAA regulations, but in at least one case, he said the disease was contracted at a social gathering.
