Pat BlairThe Wyoming Public Health Laboratory will be closed Sunday for the Labor Day weekend, so patients having tests done for the COVID-19 virus at Sheridan Memorial Hospital are advised to come after 8 a.m. Monday.
Cody Sinclair, who’s the hospital’s chief development officer, said that’s because any test specimens taken between 9 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Monday will be sent to the Mayo Clinic laboratory, and the patient cost for a COVID test at the Mayo Clinic is $150.
He said there is no cost to the patient for tests run at the Wyoming Public Health Laboratory.
Sinclair said Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s Testing Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.
For patients needing immediate assistance, Memorial Hospital Urgent Care will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Anyone experiencing a medical emergency should go to the hospital’s Emergency Department, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Patients can call 672-1004 if they have questions about COVID symptoms or COVID testing.
