The Whitney Center for the Arts is home to the Schools of Music and Art of Sheridan College as well as live events such as orchestras, live jazz, and many other performing arts.
As classes begin at Sheridan College, the Whitney Center for the Arts is reopening their doors to guests as another year of performances is being scheduled.
The Whitney Center has the ability to seat up to 422 guests. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic that number has dwindled to only 95 or approximately 23% of the theater. By using their ticketing technology, patrons can purchase tickets online and the program will automatically socially distance ticket holders.
Last spring in response to the shutdown, many scheduled performers had to cancel their appearances at the Whitney Center for the Arts.
During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Whitney Center for the Arts Concert Hall & Performing Arts Coordinator, Ryan Landis told listeners that many of the performers may be returning sometime later in the year.
The Whitney Center for the Arts will open the Rod Dugal Exhibition on Sept. 10, with an artists talk beginning at 4 p.m. and gallery opening at 5 p.m. The exhibition will be open for several weeks.
