St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Sheridan recently received $10,000 from a grant which they donated to the Hub on Smith as an outreach to help with the increased need for meals to seniors in Sheridan, Ranchester, Big Horn and Story.

According to a press release, The Foundation for the Episcopal Diocese of Wyoming recently made $1,000,000 available to help offset some of the hardships of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The first $500,000 has been distributed throughout the state and the second $500,000 will be distributed soon, according to a press release.

The Hub also helps with preparation of meals for the Lunch Together program which many people rely on but also had to cease operations. As part of the grant requirements St. Peter’s asks parishioners, other churches, and businesses in Sheridan to help match these funds and by participating as volunteers.

This is not the first time that St. Peter’s Episcopal Church has been able to help nonprofits in Sheridan. The Church is able to apply for grants from the foundation to help funding needs for worthy projects in the community.

Members of the parish are asked to participate in these programs to help build community and promote growth in those programs that help families and children in the Sheridan area to have a better life.
