Buffalo Pool to Open June 20th

The Buffalo Outdoor Pool at Washington Park will open on Saturday, June 20^th, according to Buffalo Pool Board member Jeff Shelley, who gave the update to the Buffalo City Council at their Tuesday meeting.

Shelley said the pool board is beginning to prepare for the opening in numerous ways, including sanitizing the pool area for user safety.

Shelley said sanitizing will happen every lifeguard rotation while the pool is open, which is every 15 minutes.

Shelley was asked about the protocols that need to be followed in the pool’s snack shack.

He said there will be hand sanitizer in the building which will be required to be used, and that he will check with Public Health Officer Dr. Mark Schueler about whether or not masks will be required.

If so, they will be used as well.
