SCWP to Hold Meetings Concerning Leafy Spurge

Recently, the Sheridan County Weed and Pest Control District (SCWP) announced two upcoming leafy spurge meetings. The first is in Clearmont at the Clearmont Fire Hall on Tuesday, April 29th at 1:00 p.m. The second is in Sheridan at the UW Research and Extension Center at 1090 Dome Loop in Sheridan on Wednesday, May 7th at 1:00 p.m.

Leafy Spurge is a noxious weed that takes over the range lands and is very hard to control. SCWP representatives will be discussing leafy spurge biology and management strategies (because as Sun Tzu said: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”).

They will discuss using chemicals, insects, and grazing strategies to control leafy spurge over the long term, and how SCWP can help landowners in their battles.
