Aaron PalmerJohnson County’s Commissioners have approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Campbell County for juvenile detention services.
Johnson County Attorney Tucker Ruby brought the MOU before the commission and discussed the need for it.
Ruby said he made one change to the MOU, explaining that most of Johnson County’s juvenile cases end up being delinquency cases, which then become the responsibility of the state to pay.
Ruby said there are some circumstances where Johnson County will be required to pay for the entire time where the juveniles are detained, but those are few and far between.
He closed by saying the MOU is just to formalize the agreement so all involved are clear on what is expected.
