City Adopts Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Sheridan City Council held its first regular business meeting of October Monday night. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The City Council approved a resolution adopting the 2024 Wyoming Region 1 Hazard Mitigation Plan. Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Jesse Ludikhuize said adoption of the hazard mitigation plan is a required condition of future funding for mitigation projects under multiple FEMA pre-and-post disaster mitigation grant programs.
Ludikhuize said Sheridan County makes up 31 percent of Region 1 and that 15 hazards were identified in the new plan.
The Council also approved a bid award to Dan Hart Patrol Services, LLC in an amount of just over $5 million for the Existing Landfill Excavation Project. We’ll have more from the City Council meeting in future stories.
