Aaron PalmerA Rezone request on a property in Banner has been denied by the Sheridan County Commission.
The property, owned by Ramona Phillips, previously housed the Banner Store, which has since been demolished.
Phillips wanted to rezone from A-Agricultural to C-1 Commercial to allow a storage unit facility on the property, according to County Planner Mark Reid.
He said the Planning & Zoning Commission had recommended to deny the application.
Erin Thimmesch, representing Phillips, spoke during the recent county commission meeting.
Neighboring property owners spoke both in favor of and against the proposed rezone of the property during the public hearing.
After some discussion, the commission voted to deny the rezone on a split 2-2 vote.
