Evacuation notices have been rescinded, but a wildland fire that started in Wyoming and has moved into Montana continues to burn.
As of 5:45pm Sunday (September 15th) the Short Draw Fire has burned more than 35,200 acres of land and is 27% contained.
The fire started this past Wednesday (September 11th) in northern Campbell County in Wyoming.
It has since moved in a north and northwest direction into Montana and is approaching the Powder River.
Crews from the Montana Department Of Natural Resources And Conservation have taken over command of firefighting efforts.
People are being asked to avoid the fire area as crews and aerial resources continue fire suppression efforts.
Roads in the area remain closed to non-local traffic.
