Class to offer certification to inspect your own boat for AIS

Wyoming Game and Fish Department Sheridan Regional Office is offering training on Friday, Sept. 27, for folks interested in becoming certified to inspect watercraft for Aquatic Invasive Species.

Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt said the class will be taught by Wyoming Game and Fish Sheridan Region Aquatic Invasive Species Specialist Reed Moore.

The training will run from 9 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m. with a break for lunch close to noon. This class will be held at the Game and Fish Sheridan Regional Office.

According to Schmidt, the training includes information on basic biology of invasive species, the impacts of AIS, transport vectors and distribution of AIS. It includes classroom instruction, a question-and-answer session and a hands-on watercraft inspection exercise.
