The Sheridan County Conservation District has its budget set for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
The budget is set at $1.4 million which includes ongoing projects at the Old Acme Power Plant, along with various water quality improvement projects and workshops.
District Manager Carrie Rogaczewski says as far as any big new projects go for the new fiscal year, there are none on the horizon.
In terms of how much the district spends on the water quality improvement projects, that will depend on the number of applicants, but there’s no worries about running out of money for those.
“We do have some funding that will be coming available for those. We were awarded another grant through the Clean Water Act, Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, for continuing those efforts. The budget is based on those that we know we have to get done, but there may be some others that either come and replace some of those that we think are coming or not.”
The District is currently working on putting together a new 5-year long range plan, which will run from 2025 through 2029.
