Ron RichterWyoming Food Bank of the Rockies announced Monday, $52,000 of direct funding that will aid their partners throughout Wyoming as part of their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds will be distributed to support the purchase of food as part of Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies’ Fighting Hunger Feeding Hope program. A news release from the WFBR states that they will be supporting dozens of communities by providing 43 local grants, and that every county in the state received funding through one of their partners/programs.
WFBR Director Tony Woodell said that they are providing food to all 23 counties in Wyoming with their new “drive-through” mobile pantries. He said that in April alone, they will distribute over 4,800 food boxes feeding a family of four, which equates to over 406,000 meals. Woodell said the WFBR mobile food pantry will be in Sheridan Saturday from 1 to 3 pm at Sheridan College.
