Wyoming House Majority Whip, District 51 Representative Cyrus Western (R) made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to update listeners on the Wyoming Legislative Budget Session.
Last week, the House submitted a budget with a $1.1 billion gap from that of the more conservative budget of the Senate. Western explained the purpose behind the Joint Conference Committee (JCC).

The House made the first offer in hopes of a resolution, which sat for four days. On Monday, the Senate made a counter offer which those on the House side rejected.
With the JCC failing to reach a resolution on the spending differences and Friday’s deadline looming, the decision to appoint a second committee, known as the free committee, was made.
