Johnson County Commission Chair and President of the Wyoming County Commissioners Association Bill Novotny, spoke on the upcoming 2024 Wyoming Legislative Budget Session during an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse.
Although many bills are not yet in their final form, Novotny said he is keeping a close eye on the bills that will be addressing property tax relief and reform in the upcoming 2024 Legislative Budget Session.
The session will convene on Feb. 12, a deadline for all bill drafts to be in final form at the Legislative Service Office is scheduled for noon on Feb 14.

Novotny said another bill to watch concerning property tax is HB 0003.

Novotny hopes that with the passing of these bills in combination with the property tax relief program, residents of the Cowboy State will begin to feel more at ease while the state awaits results on the upcoming election when residents will have an opportunity to vote on a change to the Wyoming Constitution and create a fourth class (residential) in the tax code.
