Aaron PalmerAt their last regular meeting, the Johnson County Healthcare Center’s Board of Trustees approved the purchase of a separate component for recently-purchased ultrasound machines for the facility.
CEO Luke Senden said the company they purchased the machines from recommended a transducer that would allow it to be used in the Emergency Room to look at patient’s internal areas and help diagnose whatever issue they may have.
Board President Dr. Mark Schueler explained the uses in more detail.
According to discussions, the separate transducer is interchangeable with all of the machines.
Schueler added that using the heart transducer in the ER is not to make a comprehensive cardiology evaluation, but to see what type of problem the patient has and treat them them if possible or send them to the proper place to be treated.
The board agreed with the purchase of the transducer.
