CTG auditions for “Waiting for Godot,” Jan 8 and 9

The Sheridan Civic Theater Guild will present “Waiting for Godot,” by Samuel Beckett, directed by Jordan Davis.
Trident Theatre Manger and Artistic Director Aaron Odom and board member and actress Valeri Hovland appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce the auditions for Beckett’s tragicomedy in two acts.

Both well-versed in theater, Odom and Hovland discussed moments when the play has been performed highlighting the existential exploration through dark themes. Hovland said Davis has chosen to focus on the comedy aspects of the writing of the play, to liven up the performance and leave the audience laughing about the absurdity of the universe and the two characters.

The CTG will hold auditions for “Waiting for Godot” beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 and Tuesday, Jan. 9, at the Carriage House, 419 Delphi Ave.
The guild is also seeking anyone who would like to help out with the production. This doesn’t have to be onstage according to Odom. The CTG is looking for carpenters, painters, people who like to clean and organize, and join the guild’s auxiliary and assist with hosting duties on nights of performance.
