JCSD1 Board Gets Update on District Facilities

The Johnson County School Board got a written report from Facilities Director John Zink during their recent regular meeting.
According to Zink, the new air handling unit at Meadowlark Elementary has been approved and signed off by the state fire marshal.
It is up and running but there are some things that still need to be addressed with the system.
The delivery date for the elevator at Buffalo High School is now expected to be November 17.
Zink said he is working to schedule a time to drain the heating system to replace
parts in the boiler room.
Boiler controls have been completed at the Kaycee School, but there are some “bugs” that need to be worked out.
The siding repair project is complete. The district should see a cost savings of around $15,000. The project was completed sooner than anticipated.
He will be scheduling a trip to Cody to see how Sunset Elementary mounted their monitors in the learning walls.
He will have a mock-up in a classroom at Cloud Peak Elementary for contractors to see for bidding on the project that will install about 28 monitors.
The Audio Enhancement project at Clear Creek Middle School is about half done. The contractor hopes to have additional manpower in the coming weeks.
He also reported that the State of Wyoming’s Department of Fire Prevention and Life Safety is doing their annual building inspection.
And finally, the grounds crew has been busy mowing, fixing leaks and painting athletic fields.
The irrigation system will be shut off the first week of October and the system will be blown out at that time.
