A popular swimming area in northwest Wyoming that had been closed for public safety reasons has been allowed to reopen.

The Wyoming State Parks Department says the Star Plunge, located within the Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis, reopened on Thursday (August 17th).

The facility was unable to provide proof of liability insurance, which was in violation of their contract and the department closed the facility on Tuesday (August 15th).

Since then the situation has been resolved.
