New numbers from Yellowstone National Park suggest that things are back to where they were before the flood and before covid pandemic started.

The park reports there were more than 847,864 recreational visits in June 2023.

That’s up 61% compared to June of last year (525,363 visits), when the park had to close because of the historic flood.

Numbers for June of this year are also up 8% compared to June of 2019 (781,853 visits), before the covid pandemic started.

As of the end of June, the park has had 1,493,510 visits for the year, which is up 19% from this time last year (1,258,834 visits) and up 10% from 2019 (1,358,629 visits).

June, July and August tend to be the busiest months of the year for the park.
