Dead Swede Gravel Race

The 7th annual Dead Swede Gravel Race took place in the Sheridan area. This competition consisted of 20, 40, 60, and 100-mile races. There were 924 participants in total, with a majority of the racers taking place in the 40-mile race. Eric Vollmer, a participant from Bozeman, Montana, competed in the 60-mile race. He explained how competitiveness and teamwork coexist in a positive way when it comes to biking marathons.

Vollmer was one of many participants who traveled to Sheridan to compete. The event ended with live music, awards and recognition of the participants who finished top three in each of their respective races. The Dead Swede race has gained loads of participants over the past couple of years and as it continues to grow we hope to see more visitors come from around the country.
