Thermopolis Police Officer In Stable Condition After Being Shot On Scene

A Thermopolis Police Officer is recovering after being struck by gunfire.
According to a media release, at around 12:30pm Friday (April 28th), Sergeant Mike Mascarro and other officers responded to an incident on Canyon Hills Road on the southwest side of town, where a shooting occurred.
Sergeant Mascarro was struck by gunfire and was immediately transported to Hot Springs Health.
He was later airlifted to Banner-Wyoming Medical Center in Casper and is listed in stable condition.
The incident is being investigated by Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation
More information will be released by the DCI when it becomes available.
The area where the incident happened has been reopened and there is no ongoing threat to that community.
