Lake DeSmet to Get Additional Access Point at North End

Lake DeSmet will soon be getting a new access point on the north end of the lake, complete with a boat ramp and a vault toilet, similar to what is currently available at the Monument access point.
That is according to Johnson County Commissioner Bill Novotny, who was recently a guest host on the Public Pulse Open Lines show.
Novotny discussed a legal settlement where the county received a payment from a landowner at the lake concerning a private boat ramp.
Novotny said the county received $125,000 form the settlement, which they will couple with $175,000 from the Wyoming Game & Fish Department to purchase five acres of land on the north end of the lake.
Novotny described what the new access will have.
Game & Fish approved the project in January of this year, according to Novotny.
He said the project is expected to get underway this summer.
