Although the number of reported cases of the coronavirus disease continues to grow worldwide, the Wyoming Department of Health has announced that the current risk of an outbreak in Wyoming remains low. The State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist explained that they have not seen reported or suspected cases in the state so far, however, they continue to closely monitor the situation. Symptoms of the sickness include mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

Dr. Harrist recommends that the public take necessary steps to help avoid the spread of respiratory illnesses including coronavirus and influenza. Those steps include avoiding close contact with infected individuals, staying home when you are sick, and washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
