Ron RichterThe Downtown Development Authority was originally formed in 2014 by 25 percent of the people owning non-residential property within the downtown district in Sheridan. The group executed a petition to form a DDA and presented it to the Sheridan City Council, requesting that the City approve ordinances establishing the DDA. In late November of 2019, the City Council appointed a new board of directors for the DDA and established new bylaws. City Administrator Stu McRae provided some insight into the history of the DDA during a City Council study session Monday night.
After providing a history of the DDA, McRae explained what led to his presentation at the study session.
McRae presented the Council and Mayor Rich Bridger with a number of different options moving forward.
McRae then explained the fourth and final option.
No action was taken by the City Council, as is the norm at a study session, but the Council is expected to make a decision at an upcoming business meeting on the path forward for the DDA.
