JCSD1 Board Approves Policy Revisions

The Johnson County School Board approved policy revisions on first and second reading during their recent regular meeting.

The board reviewed and approved on second reading Policy File JFABB, Admission of Exchange Students; Policy File IJL, Library Materials Selection and Adoption; and Policy File IJLA, Procedure to Challenge Instructional/Library Materials.

Also passed on first reading were Policy File EFDA, Payment Debt Collection; and the COVID Leave Extension Request.

Superintendent Charles Auzqui talked about the COVID Leave Extension.

Auzqui said the district was asked if they wanted to extend the leave for another year and receive more funding, which he agreed to.

The district has not collected funds for COVID leave as much as they have in the past, so there may be some funds left on the table, which he is okay with.
