SPD: 1st Joint Enforcement Effort of 2020 Goes Well

In anticipation of the Big Game weekend celebrations, the Sheridan Police Department, the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol teamed up to conduct their first of six joint operations to prevent drunk driving. Sheridan Police Department Lt. Travis Koltiska gave a recap of how the public responded.

Each agency has different duties to complete in these collaborative efforts and Lt. Koltiska shared what part they played.

These team ups are made possible through Federal Highway Safety Grants and the next operation is set to take place around the St. Patrick’s Day holiday next month.

    That’s all well and good but I’d prefer our highway funds be used for road infrastructure not overtime grants for law enforcement agencies. Remember this the next time your legislators are telling you they have to raise the gas tax.
