A change of plea hearing was recently held in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for a man charged with multiple felonies. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Change of Plea Hearing

Pursuant to terms of a plea agreement reached with the state, 31-year-old Joshua Reamer-Koehl pleaded guilty to the charges of felony property destruction and felony interference with a peace officer. The plea agreement is non-binding, meaning the court can reject the plea deal altogether at sentencing and the defendant cannot withdraw the guilty pleas. The plea deal recommends a sentence of 3 to 5 years in prison for the interference charge, and 2 to 4 years for the property destruction charge. The sentences will run concurrent and the prosecution is recommending they be suspended in lieu of three years of supervised probation. District Court Judge Darci Phillips ordered that a presentence investigation be completed and scheduled the sentencing for November 1 at 9 am. Reamer-Koehl’s bond was revoked and he was remanded to the custody of the Sheridan County Detention Center to await sentencing.

According to court documents, on January 1, 2022, Reamer-Koehl broke the glass front door of the Taco Bell on Coffeen Avenue in Sheridan after being told he could not panhandle on the business’s property. Reamer-Koehl, after being placed under arrest for property destruction, struck a Sheriff’s deputy in the jaw with a closed fist, which resulted in the interference charge. The estimated damage to the front door of the business exceeded $1,000, which is a felony in Wyoming.
