First of Two Candidate Forums Held in Buffalo Tuesday

Two candidate forums are being held in Buffalo this week to give voters a chance to meet the candidates in various local races and hear their opinions on a number matters that are concerning their constituents.

The events are sponsored by the Republican Women Freedom Alliance and are being moderated by Laura DeMatteis.

The first was Tuesday evening in Washington Park, where the candidates for Johnson County Commission: John DeMatteis, Bob Hancock, Norman Lee Sanford, Jeff Shelley, and incumbent Bill Novotny were present. Sherry Kolb did not attend.

Also attending were the candidates for House District 40, incumbent Barry Crago and former Representative Richard Tass.

Sheriff’s candidates Paul Kozisek and incumbent Rod Odenbach were also in attendance.

The second forum will be Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 at the band shell in Washington Park and will feature the candidates for Buffalo Mayor, Clerk of District Court, and County Clerk.

The public is encouraged to attend.
