JCHC Board Discusses Recruitment

Recruitment was the main topic of discussion during the chief of staff’s report to the hospital board of trustees at their most recent meeting.

Dr. Mark Schueler, giving the report in the absence of Dr. Ryan Ludwig, said the facility has conducted a number of interviews for providers in the clinic, and are still looking to add another doctor in the emergency room.

Schueler and CEO Luke Senden said there is a provider recruited who will take over when Dr. Gonzales retires next year.

Schueler said the facility has been busier and with vacation and tourist season just around the corner, which may create some staffing and scheduling challenges, but he feels they have an ample and diverse staff to handle that.

There has been somewhat of a setback with COVID in the community and the nursing home has been restricted somewhat because of that.
