Jo Co Commission Gets $13.5 Million in Budget Requests
Due to a scheduling conflict, the Johnson County Commission moved their regular meeting from Tuesday to Wednesday morning.
During the meeting, the commissioners received the operational budget requests from their department heads through County Clerk Vicki Edelman, in the amount of just under $13.5 million, according to Chairman Bill Novotny.
Novotny explained that last year’s final adopted operations budget was just over $11.6 million.
He said now that the commissioners have the requested budgets, they will “get out their magnifying glasses and their scalpels and get to work” to finalize the budget for fiscal year 2022-23.
We will take a closer look at the department heads’ budget requests as the information becomes available from the county.
