Ron RichterThe Trees for Trash event was held Saturday at the City of Sheridan Landfill, and once again, it was a success. The annual spring clean-up event is an opportunity for residents to bring their trash to the landfill free of charge and receive a tree to plant courtesy of Landon’s Greenhouse and Nursery. City Recycling and Solid Waste Coordinator Seliena Parker said the turnout was pretty good considering the high winds on Saturday.
Parker said if you weren’t able to make it to the landfill for Trees for Trash, there will be a free landfill day this upcoming Saturday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Parker said the free landfill day in the fall is scheduled for Saturday, October 29.
