Aaron PalmerThe Sheridan County Commission has approved a grant application request from the Sheridan County Historic Preservation Commission to secure funds for the First Congregational United Church of Christ National Register of Historic Places nomination.
Kristin Campbell, chair of the historic preservation commission, spoke to the county commission about the project.
Campbell said the project will cost roughly $14,500 and if the grant is approved, the preservation commission will receive about $4,700 from Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office with an in-kind match from Downtown Sheridan Association with a portion from the preservation commission for a total of just under $7,400 with the DSA providing a $2,000 cash match.
The project is expected to be complete in the spring of 2023, with a celebration event planned at that time for the listing of the building.
