Begin a journey with the Backyard 

Sheridan County Travel and Tourism stepped out of the box and into Sheridan and Johnson Counties to create a series that would allow travelers and locals a view in The Backyard. 

The Backyard is a YouTube exclusive streaming series that explores the local region from the Bighorn Mountains to the dusty highway leading into true outlaw country west of Kaycee. 

This series was developed as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic according to Sheridan County Travel and Tourism Executive Director Shawn Parker. 

Parker and his team were unsure what the future would bring once the pandemic began shutting down businesses and the tourism season two years ago. But Parker knew he had expertise in his team, they had the equipment, so Parker had his team create a video series telling travelers that Sheridan was still here and telling Sheridan, Travel and Tourism was still here for them. 

The Backyard now has 12 episodes that explore the region and show viewers how to take advantage of the natural beauty and rich history that Sheridan and Johnson Counties have to offer. 

Although Parker didn’t want to drop any spoilers on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, he did confirm that a second season of The Backyard is in development.
