Johnson County Sets One-Percent Allocation

Published

on

Johnson County’s Commissioners have set their allocation for funds to the One-Percent Committee for recommendations for distribution.

During the commission’s recent meeting, Treasurer Carla Bishop presented them with information on tax revenues collected.

After discussions, the commission decided to set their allocation at $165,000 matching what the Buffalo City Council contributed from the city.

One-percent funds come from additional sales tax revenue generated in the county and are typically given to outside organizations as well as city and county departments.

The One-Percent Committee will now take the $330,000 and present their recommendations to both the city council and county commission later this spring for the two entities to distribute.

So $330,000 is to be distributed. How much was actually collected and if a difference, where does the surplus money go?
