JCHC Staff Gives Reports to Hospital Board
The Hospital Board for the Johnson County Healthcare Center was given updates on the clinic, hospital, and nursing home by staff that said the month of October was positive overall in the facility.
In the board’s recent meeting, Brenda Gorm, Director of Nursing in the Amie Holt Care Center, said Home Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has changed some regulations concerning nursing homes.
Clinic Director Miranda Camino said visits in October were at just over 1,400 which is down from last year’s nearly 1,700 clinic visits.
The clinic evaluated 141 people for COVID symptoms during the month.
Over the last few weeks they have been offering some 8am appointments and others during the noon hour to help give more options to patients.
Mary Litzel, Director of Nursing in the hospital, reported that the hospital is busy, and they have more acute care patients, above and beyond COVID patients they are caring for.
