WebmasterTuba Christmas will be back for a 20th year in Sheridan this Saturday. Tuba player Dale Hoffman has been playing with the local group since the beginning and shared what will take place at the event.
2019 marks the 46th Anniversary of Tuba Christmas world wide and it was first held to honor the memory of William J. Bell, a performer and teacher that was born on Christmas Day. Director and also an original organizer for the local events Dr. Ariel Downing talked about how it came together for the Sheridan group 20 years ago.
Registration and rehearsal for those interested in playing is 9:45 Saturday morning at the Sheridan Wesleyan Church and all tuba, euphonium, and baritone performers are welcome. There is a $10 fee per player. They will perform at the Sheridan Holiday Inn later that day at 1:30pm. Attendance to the performance is free and the public is welcome to attend.
