Community Holiday Dinner Draws Hundreds Once Again

The Sheridan Holiday Inn was full of community members on Sunday night as the 29th Annual Community Holiday Dinner was attended by hundreds. Event Chair Erin DeFries said it was yet again a successful year for the community to gather and share the cheer of the holiday season.

DeFries said that normally they anticipate anywhere from 1,100 to 1,200 attendants and that requires them to prepare 50 turkeys and over 300 pounds of mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, and stuffing. Given that next year’s event will mark the 30th edition of the get together, DeFries answered if they had anything up their sleeves for the big 3 0.

Music was provided to set the mood by the Craft Brothers and Holiday Brass. Also at Sunday’s event, Santa and Mrs. Claus took pictures with families and gift bags were handed out to the children and adults in attendance.
