Council Approves Charter Franchise Agreement

A franchise agreement between the City of Sheridan and a communications company was considered Monday night by the Sheridan City Council. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The Council, on a 5 to 1 vote, approved an ordinance on third and final reading that renews the franchise agreement between the City of Sheridan and Charter Communications. City Utilities Director Dan Roberts explains some of the changes to the new agreement between the two entities.
Roberts explains an amendment that the Council approved into the agreement on second reading of the ordinance in November.
Roberts said that the franchise agreement between the City and Charter that was approved is for a period of ten years, as opposed to the five year agreement the two sides had been working under.
