Johnson County Approves TANF Grant Contract
The Johnson County Commission voted to accept the contract for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Grant funding through the Wyoming Department of Family Services.
Three area entities applied for $61,000 in funding: Compass Center for Families for $25,000; the Buffalo Children’s Center for $16,000; and
the Boys and Girls Club for $20,000.
Ashlea Bassett, assistant to the county commissioners, explained at an earlier meeting what the state had allocated for the county, which then distributes the funds to the three entities.
The county also takes 5% of the funding for an administrative fee, which is $2,600.
