Last week, Buffalo’s City Council had a meeting to develop a strategic plan for the city for the next few years.

According to a release from the city, the purpose was to identify and prioritize city responsibilities that should be addressed over the next few years.

The council made no formal decisions, but during the discussion the council identified projects to concentrate on, including but not limited to employee retention; a comprehensive plan for street repair and maintenance; technology review and upgrades as needed; inter-agency communication and interactions; and additional opportunities for public information distribution.

Mayor Shane Schrader said the plan is essentially a road map for the city.

The next step in the process is to sit down with the city’s department heads to come up with a plan for each individual area, according to the mayor.
