Spots for this year’s Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt are already filled except for those reserved for scholarship recipients.

The hunt will be Oct. 7-10 at the Ranch at Ucross, and applications for the 2021 scholarships are being accepted now through March 15. According to a release from hunt organizers, hunters who haven’t already signed up and who are interested in participating in the 2021 hunt may apply for a scholarship or join a waitlist.

Waitlist applicants may be offered the opportunity to participate if additional spots become available before October.

This will be the ninth year for the hunt, which was founded by the Wyoming Women’s Foundation both as a fundraiser and to provide an opportunity for mentoring and developing camaraderie among women. The event brings together over 40 women hunters from across the nation, and approximately one-third of those attend on scholarship.

Participants are provided with guides, and the hunt emphasizes hunter safety, hunting and land ethics and the conservation and proper management of wild natural resources.

Since inception in 2013, the hunt has raised over $500,000 for special projects to help women and girls work toward economic self-sufficiency across Wyoming.
